Great News for Public Diving Rights

Great News for Public Diving Rights

Hello All,

We would like to thank all of those that have supported HB 54. It has passed through the House of Representatives. We would like to extend a very special thanks to Dr. Jim McClendon, the bill’s sponsor in the House. Without your continued effort it would not have passed. Now on to the Senate. Thank you to Cam Ward our sponsor in the Senate. We now need everyone to support HB 54 in the Senate. HB 54 is the same thing as SB 81. HB 54 specifically protects all Native American burial grounds. We have the support of the Alabama Indian tribes, the Alabama Department of Tourism and Travel, Museums and Historians.

We ask for you to continue to write letters of support to the Legislators, both the Senate and the House of Representatives. We have a recently posted a number of emails and letters of support here, so be sure to review those. Even though HB 54 has passed in the House, it may have to go back there once it passes the Senate. Please continue to write, we are very close to getting this passed.
Please take a moment and contact ALL Senators and Representatives and ask them to Support HB 54. Here are their email addresses that you can copy and paste into your email client:
